A pitch deck is a presentation deck that is used to pitch your idea or company to any number of audiences, generally investors. One of the single most important aspects of an effective pitch deck is to organize it based on the audience and forum to which it is being presented. Several key components to a pitch deck include high level summary slides, the problem you are addressing, the product, the market/strategy, the team, financials/projections and the tone you want to convey.

As an entrepreneur, you probably know this: your company or idea needs financing. Oftentimes, this financing will come from external sources—people who are not friends or family. This means that you will need to communicate your ideas to potential financiers in a way that gets them excited about investing in your business.

As strange as it sounds, the primary goal of a pitch desk is not to secure funding—it is to make it to the next meeting. Securing funding is a multi-step process. A good, informative pitch deck is the first rung on the ladder. You will want to present investors with an idea that intrigues them and gets them to engage with you. A pitch deck presentation usually consists of several slides that help you tell a compelling story about your business.

It is tempting to dump information onto investors. As a founder, every part of your business is important to you. But the best pitch decks are ones that are short and easy to follow.

A good rule of thumb is to include no more than 19 slides in a pitch deck.

Promote your big idea to the world and showcase your team, business plans, market size,  company history, investment and market timeline. The pitch deck template will help make a great pitch for your business to potential investors.

The first slide contains editable picture placeholders, content area for brief description of your key team members’ names and positions,  and a progress bar to show their skill level. Present your business plan and strategy in the second slide with the infographics provided.

The third slide is all about marketing and how much of the market size is targeted. The market size is divided into market target and potential market in different proportions. Blow your company’s trumpet in the fourth slide as you showcase your company’s history and significant accomplishments along the way. The fifth slide allow you show your potential investors what your investment are and the nature of such investment. Whether it is one-time or recurring investment.
